February 1, 2020

Published: 2020

Resource Type: Document

Quantitative monitoring of the fen vegetation at the North Star Nature Preserve was conducted in order to provide a baseline by which the future hydrological restoration so the fen may be judged. More specifically, plans have been developed to plug the major drainage ditch draining the fen. This report documents pre-restoration site conditions and assesses cover of native sedges (Carex spp.) versus the invasive non-native reed canarygrass (Phalaris arundinacea).
